PREPARING THE INGREDIENTS

  • Clean and devein 250g of shrimp/prawns

  • Mince 6 cloves of garlic

  • Finely chop 20g of parsley

  • Cut cherry tomatoes in halves or quarters depending on their size

PREPARING THE PRAWNS/SHRIMPS

Marinate the shrimp in a small bowl with 1 teaspoon each of paprika, garlic powder, and salt, then lightly coat them with 1 teaspoon of flour.

PREPARING THE PASTA

Add 1 tablespoon of salt to a pot of boiling water, then add 300g of spaghetti. Cook until al dente, or according to the package instructions. (Before draining, remember to reserve 1 to 2 cups of pasta water for later use in the recipe.)

COOKING PROCESS

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a shallow pan, then add 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté the prawns for 3 to 4 minutes, or slightly longer if they’re large, until cooked through. Once done, remove them from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of chili flakes, the cherry tomatoes, and an additional tablespoon of butter. Continue to sauté for another 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the spaghetti along with 1/2 cup of reserved pasta water, and toss everything together until well combined.

Return the cooked prawns to the pan, mix gently, and finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
