It’s one of those work-from-home days where I’m on my own for lunch, so I kept it simple with a quick and cozy noodle dish. These Garlic Butter Noodles are the ultimate 10-minute comfort food! Made with just a handful of pantry staples like garlic, butter, soy sauce, and oyster sauce, this dish is rich, savory, and full of umami flavor. It’s super easy to make, budget-friendly, and requires minimal ingredients—perfect for busy days or tight grocery runs. A touch of chili flakes and paprika adds a gentle kick, but you can skip the spice for a kid-friendly version. No meat needed—just lots of garlic and golden buttery goodness. Great for lazy lunches, weeknight dinners, or whenever you’re craving something fast and satisfying.
INGREDIENTS (1 large or 2 small servings)
Udon noodles - 400g
Garlic - 10-15 cloves
Butter - 3 tbsp
Scallions - 50g Oil - 1 tsp
Chilli Flakes - 1 tbsp
Paprika - 1 tsp
Soy Sauce - 3 tbsp
Oyster Sauce - 1 tbsp

PREPARING THE INGREDIENTS
Mince 10-15 cloves of garlic
Thinly slice about 50g of scallions
Soak the udon noodles in warm water to loosen up

Start by draining the noodles well to remove any excess water.
In a saucepan, heat 3–4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Next, season with 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Taste and adjust with a pinch of salt or sugar if needed.
For a bit of heat, add 1 tablespoon of chili flakes and 1 teaspoon of paprika—this step is optional but adds a nice kick.
Stir everything for about 30 seconds, then add the drained noodles. Toss well to coat the noodles evenly in the sauce.
Finish by topping with chopped scallions. And that’s it—your garlic butter noodles are ready to enjoy!
